My latest video adventure was at Heavenly Ski Resort at Lake Tahoe, CA. I did a video on the Heavenly Flyer, a zip line ride that sits at the top of the mountain at 9,100 ft and descends 525 ft at 40-50 mph in 80 seconds. While the ride looks intimidating, it's quite an amazing ride and after the first 3 seconds or so you really love being on it. The view of Lake Tahoe is second to none and flying above all the trees, snow and skiers is an experience that I will never forget. You can read about the zip line and see the video at www.sacbee.com All still pictures are courtesy of Randy Pench, The Sacramento Bee.

Preps Plus at www.sacbee.com |

My latest endeavor in the world of video is shooting Friday night High School Football games for the PrepsPlus section of SacBee.com. These videos cater to the latest craze of being able to see the game you played the very next day online. The work you are about to see consists of shooting the first half of the game, rushing back to the paper, spending about 3 hours to edit, 2 hours to encode, and a half hour to format and upload. The process is very time consuming and the work sees the wee hours of the morning. If for only a handful of dedicated athletes and their families get to see the videos and enjoy them, then all that work has paid off. UPDATED 12/06/2007 |

Low-Slung in Lodi: Jeff Nickell Custom Bike Designs |
|
Monday, 03 September 2007 |
| Watch as Jeff Nickell talks about his passion for the Harley in my latest Sacramento Bee video. His latest fabrication is for the actor/model Fabio. This monster bike is almost entirely raw steel and incorporates tribal style cut-outs that are razor sharp. | Part two of the series is a welding lesson by Jeff. He discusses how he welds Fabio's gas tanks and talks about the difference between TIG and MIG welding. You can learn more about Nickell's Custom Bile Designs by visiting www.nickellscustoms.com
